I recently attended Lindley Junior Leavers celebrations to take photographs of their Hollywood Themed Disco. Youngsters arrived excited and looking fab, take a look at some of the highlights.
From Lindley Leavers:
Giving someone a brief to photograph approximately 90 11 year olds, all hyped up to party, in the space of 2 hours, in an unknown environment, would surely make any sane photographer run a mile, but not Dawn!! Dawn relished the challenge!!!! As well as getting some fantastic “natural” shots of the children on the red carpet, some wonderful group photos and some atmospheric action shots Dawn also made sure that each child got a beautiful portrait. She even managed to fit the whole group on for a fantastic memory of their leavers disco

An interpretation through photography of the OLYMPIC VALUES
University of the First Age, organised in conjunction with Kirklees Council’s Extended Learning Service.
A one day workshop with approximately 40 students attending the Photography Workshop. Basic photographic techniques were taught and students used the knowledge gained to photograph their interpretation of the Olympic Values.
Dance and Photography project - Northern Ballet and Dawn Robinson Photography
Funded by Creative Partnerships through Cape UK, this was a 5 week project themed on the work of artist and sculpture Alberto Giacometti. Dance was used to build trust and co-operation between children in year 4 classes. Over the weeks the children wrote journals and letters and created sculptures and artwork. They explored the basics of photography and composition using digital cameras. The children had a wonderful day at Yorkshire Sculpture Park where they used their new photography skills to photograph their classmates creating dance and sculptures. The photographs you see here in this slideshow show just how much they learnt in a very short time.
